# Use Cypherock X0 as a seed phrase vault

Cypherock X0 has the capability of securing 4 wallets, each with a separate seed phrase and its own PIN.

Consider this example: a user has two wallets, a software wallet and another hardware wallet. This user has two seed phrases that are required to be backed up. The individual can import the seed phrases of their existing wallets into Cypherock X0, and use Cypherock X0 as a seed phrase vault.

## How it works

Cypherock X0 accepts seed phrases of 12, 18, or 24 words from any BIP39 compatible wallet.

## Import your wallet

Enter its seed phrase in the X0 Wallet App.

## Set a wallet PIN

Set a PIN for the wallet.

## Tap your X0 Cards

Tap all 4 of your X0 Cards. The X0 Card loads your seed phrase into its secure element, splits it into 5 shards, and distributes them to your other 3 X0 Cards and your phone.

From then on, your imported wallet is protected exactly like a wallet created on Cypherock X0.

Every wallet on Cypherock X0 is protected by its own mandatory PIN. The PIN cannot be changed once it is set, so choose it carefully and keep it safe.

If you forget the PIN, you will not be able to access the wallet. It is better to back up the PIN somewhere in case you feel you might forget it later.

Even if the PIN is exposed, an attacker will still need access to 2 of your 5 shards: your phone and an X0 Card, or 2 X0 Cards.

## After importing

Once the wallet is secured by Cypherock X0, you will be able to manage your funds from both your existing wallet and Cypherock X0.

Once you have verified that the wallet has been secured by Cypherock X0, you may destroy your current seed phrase backup.

In the case that you want to view your seed phrase at any point in time in the future, you may do so from the X0 Wallet App using your phone, 2 of your X0 Cards, and your wallet PIN.
